Reign of the Gray-Eyed Kings

The Merdian line of Venzor had defended the Volnor kingdom for a dozen generations: The Gray-Eyed Kings.  With the Royal Fist and Royal Shield armies as his right hand, King Tothos ruled over the peaceful capital.

The Timber Lord of the North spied the Volnor lands with greedy eyes and built his Royal Helm army to challenge the King’s forces.  With the help of an eastern mystic, the Timber Lord launched a magical attack against Tothos.  In the confusion in Venzor, the Royal Helm marched south to the Volnor farmlands.

Denthos was a prince in the line of the Gray-Eyed Kings, but the prince caused murmurs among the royal court because his eyes were blue.  With Tothos unable to rule, Den stepped forward to stand in his father’s place.  Den summoned the armies of the south to ride against the Royal Helm, but that a greater threat loomed.

The Crystal God, Beralk, removed his protection from the Volnor Lands.  Denthos learned that he must take on a quest to find the source of Beralk’s displeasure.

Traveling with his barbarian bodyguard and a small contingent of men, Den made his way through Royal Helm lines to find a mysterious benefactor.

In the Volnor people’s darkest hour, their greatest enemy attacked.
